Please be warned: The following column contains words of a somewhat nauseating topic. Here goes…
On the eve of what was to begin my new year of healthy eating, I went to sleep with a bit of a stomach-ache. I just figured I ate a too much at the family gathering I had just hosted and would be fine in the morning. A few hours later, I awoke with a strange sensation. “I think I’m feeling nauseous,” I said to myself as I started swallowing uncontrollably.

Well, over this past week I’ve come to the realization that I’m never going to be a world-class ice skater. Here is how I arrived at this conclusion:
First, I haven’t had an ice skating lesson since I was about eight years old. Next, my most impressive ice-skating move is “swizzles” and I’ve never really seen that in any major competition. Lastly, I have noticed that my skating skills aren’t quite on par with the 2005 World Champion Pairs Skaters who have been skating at the Twin Rinks Ice Pavilion. |

I’ve always admired those people who can board an airplane and fall asleep before takeoff. I’ve also admired anyone who can actually enjoy an in-flight movie or concentrate enough to read almost an entire book during a flight.
The reason for my admiration is because I am what is known as a “fearful flyer.” I am the passenger panicking about every noise or bump for the entire duration of any given flight. |

Greeting, Readers. Recently, I went to the movie “Walk the Line” with my friend Jen. Shortly after the movie started Jen leaned over and asked, “What do you think of it so far?” In shock that anyone would try to have a discussion right then, I nodded with a half-hearted smile and quickly tried to focus back on the movie. |
